Last Days of the Interim
Clock is Ticking Down but Work Has Already Begun
The weather has changed, the air is colder, and the clock to the 85th Texas Legislative Session is counting down.
There are 21 days until the Texas Legislature convenes for the 85th legislative session. But that has not stopped lawmakers from hitting the ground running. Since November 14th lawmakers have filed 966 bills and resolutions filed— 633 filed in the House and 333 in the Senate.
Some notable bills already filed include:

SB 2 by Paul Bettencourt (R-Houston)- Property tax reform bill that lowers the property tax rollback rate from 8% to 4%.

SB 4 by Charles Perry (R-Lubbock)- Bans sanctuary cities

SB 11 by Charles Schwertner (R- Georgetown)- Reforms the CPS system
